If you know me, you know how much I LOVE K-POP (yes it is a love with capital letters, that is how much I love it lol). And now after more than ten posts, it is surprising that I have not written any single post about K-pop (at least it surprises myself haha).

But now I think it is time to finally reveal my love to not only K-pop, but Korean culture in general. I spent my junior high school days swooning over a Japanese boy group Hey! Say! JUMP because I used to watch Animax a lot back then. In the end of my junior high year, I got to know K-Pop because of TVXQ, and the rest is history.

Well this time, it is not the K-pop that I want to highlight, it is the Korean very own sport, Taekwondo.

Lots of people know that Taekwondo is a martial art. But, not so many people know that you can incorporate Taekwondo with K-pop! If you are imagining a dance choreography of K-pop songs mixed with Taekwondo movement then yes, you got it right. Another example of music and sport together (see World Cup post for previous example).

I am here to introduce you to K-Tigers! They are super duper talented! They are good in taekwondo, they are good in dancing, their movement is powerful and synchronized and bonus point, some of them are cute >__< haha.

They gain lots of popularity because of this cover dance video. They even got the approval from the singer himself! For the original music video you can check it out here.

Just recently, K-Tigers enter an audition to Dancing 9, a dance survival competition in South Korea. Needless to say, they totally left the judges in an awe. It is very smart to incorporate sport with modern music, isn't it?

I will definitely have the same reaction if I were those judges. So, makes sure  you check out their youtube page for more awesomeness.

And eye candy for you guys, here is EXO (one of most popular Korean-Chinese boyband right now) member, Tao incorporating Wushu with music.

Follow Friday +03

This time in Follow Friday, I want to introduce you guys to the infamous Sacha Stevenson. Sacha is a Canadian who's been living in Indonesia for twelve years, thus it explains how fluent she is in Bahasa Indonesia.

As she lives here, she observed the culture and the habit of Indonesian people and share her point of view through her videos.

Haha, I think it's fun to see a foreigner act out Indonesian's habit. And the way she acts it out is hilarious. Can you relate yourself with her? Haha.

Beside of showing 'How to Act Indonesian', few years ago she also created a song with the title "Culture". You may want to check it out! She's got a pretty good voice ;)

First of all, you guys, I have just known that today, USA celebrates the National Donut Day! Learn more about the celebration here. And take a look at this gorgeous post about the celebration and giveaway, unfortunately I am not a US resident *sobs*

Well anyway, for this week's Follow Friday, regarding the National Donut Day, I will be talking about FOOD ^^ It is no doubt that people can not live without food. They have to get nutrition and vitamin and everything else from the food in order to have power and to grow up. Like it or not, food has become a part of our culture. each country has their own authentic dishes. The nation's dish usually make people relate the food to the country automatically. For example, sushi from Japan, pizza from Italy, kimchi from Korea, etc etc.

And of course, I can't be anymore prouder to see some of Indonesian dishes in the world's 50 best foods in the world voted by CNN readers! Read the article here! ^^

Or to sum it up for you guys,

Satay or sate in Indonesian took the 14th place. No doubt, satay is soooo delicious, Especially when you order it in street hawker near my house. As the matter of fact, I have just bought sate ayam (chicken satay), because, I can't resist. LOL.

Guess what is on the second place? It is Nasi Goreng (fried rice)! I have to admit too, that I am a big fan of this dish. It is very simple to make nasi goreng that everyone who can cook must have been able to make this. And even if you can't cook, there are so many people selling nasi goreng! From nasi tek-tek, street hawker, school canteen, even a restaurant in the mall.

You guys might have heard about this, but yes, RENDANG gets the first spot on the World's 50 Most Delicious Food. I know that this dish is very well-known and well-accepted in Indonesia. What amazes me is that even foreign people actually know, eat and love rendang! In Indonesia, you can easily find this in Padang or Minang restaurant. And the good thing is, you can find Padang or Minang restaurant easily in Indonesia. Yay!

There are still lots and lots of Indonesia's amazing dishes. But really it's late at night and I am drooling haha. That's it for now, I probably will (or will not) talk about food again later. Off to finish my super yummy sate ayam ^^

Follow Friday +01

Hey ho! Just like my other blog (which is now on hiatus), I will be having a feature called Follow Friday where I will be sharing links or blogs or probably musics or movies that are related to CULTURE so that you will be able to follow it through and hopefully get inspired ;)

How is your holiday guys? I hope you are having fun. Are you spending your free time hanging out or are you guys staying at home and spending your time on internet? If you do, then here is a great website you should definitely check out! This site is called Good News From Indonesia.

It is not a doubt that most of the news that we see in the mass media from TV to newspaper to magazines are mostly bad news or negative news. It is such a shame that the negative news are dominating the society and overshadowing the good side of Indonesia.

What is Good News From Indonesia?
Good News From Indonesia is committed to compiling and sharing only good news from many different sources because we appreciate positiveness and optimism; and especially from Indonesia because we believe our country has a lot of good things to offer. And it is also our intent to show the world of the brighter side of Indonesia so that they can see and understand us in the best possible way.

I am truly impressed with this site because instead of following the crowd, the team behind this site see Indonesia from the better point of view. They are also reminding us how Indonesia is not always about negative things. In fact, there are so many things that leave me in awe and make me become more grateful to be able to live, stay and be a part of Indonesia.

So, if you still have doubt about Indonesia, or you simply don't know how to spend your free time, I recommend you to checkout this site. Also you can catch them and get the latest info through their social media, which you can find in the 'About' page.
